Mozilla announced that Firefox 3 Beta 2 is ready for testing! Yesterday, Mozilla Corp. released this second beta version of Firefox browser, several days earlier that it had planned. This release is targeted to Web developers and testing communities to gain feedback. Firefox 3 Beta 2 is more improved and secure, with lots of bug fixes and enhancements.
Firefox 3 Beta 2 includes approximately 900 improvements over the previous beta, including fixes for stability, performance, memory usage, platform enhancements and user interface improvements. Most of these improvements were based on community feedback from the previous beta. With the feedback from Beta 2, Mozilla hopes to release the final version of Firefox 3.
Firefox 3 Beta 2 comes with a new address bar — called the “location bar” — that matches page titles and addresses from the browser’s history with the user’s bookmarks and tags. The Downloads window has also been improved. The Download Manager has a new feature as it shows the domain of the site where the file is coming from. Mozilla has also upgraded the bookmarking and browser history, by providing improved search functionality.
You can download Firefox 3 Beta 2 from the Firefox beta page. Mind it, this version is for testing purpose only. Only developers and testers are encouraged to download it. Please ready the Release Notes for Firefox 3 Beta 2, before downloading or using it!
